WELCOME ABOARD
The 1st Marine Division is the oldest, largest, most decorated division in Marine Corps history and the 1st Marine Division Association is made up of any veteran or active duty individual who was or is a member of the 1st Marine Division or was in a unit that was attached to the 1st Marine Division.
Membership is open to any veteran or active duty individual who served in the foregoing capacity. This applies equally to those who served with attached or supporting units such as corpsmen, aviation units, Seabees, ships, other regiments, battalions and other uniformed services.
Chicago, Illinois and surrounding suburban areas are served by a local chapter of the 1st Marine Division Association with veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, Iraq, Afghanistan War and peacetime.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
The chapter
holds monthly meetings the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30pm throughout the year. The purpose of the chapter is to foster, encourage and promote the memory, spirit and comradeship in arms of current and former members of the 1st Marine Division and supports all local community activities oriented toward veterans. On the national level the Association maintains a college scholarship fund that supports the children of deceased, MIA or totally disabled members.
